Happy Holidays

Since my last post, there have been a few things that have changed.  I'm now 24 years old as of November 4!  Most of my best friends helped celebrate.  I had such an amazing time and it was the BEST birthday party yet!  Instead of going out to dinner, Kayla and I (mostly I) cooked a delicious spaghetti dinner.  Yum.  After such a fantastic birthday month, it ended with Thanksgiving!

The food was absolutely filling but amazing.  I made my famous fruit pizza for the Nyberg's, and it was gone within a hour.  I even found star fruit and no one had tried it before.  I love star fruit but I don't think anyone enjoyed it as much as I do.  Haha.  Just as the holiday ended, December started!  And a warm December at that!  Our Christmas tree just recently went up and there are already more than a dozen presents under it.  I wrapped all my presents today before I left for our family Christmas celebration in Baldwin!

My family Christmas is always held in Baldwin each year.  It is a tradition that my entire family goes bowling.  We have always done this since I can remember.  Whenever you bowl a strike you get to unwrap a present.  This year was the first year I had a strike in the first game!  I'm normally terrible at bowling and after the first game I proved that, but I'm okay with that!  As long as I'm with my family, that's all that matters!

Oh my gosh, I almost forgot the best part of December................EVAN GRADUATED!!!!  I am so proud of him because I know how hard he studied and all the time he spent in the library and his professor's office.  All his hard work has finally paid off and he has a degree to prove it!  This marks a new chapter in both of our lives!  We will be moving out of our parents house soon, FINALLY.  Hopefully this will happen within three months.  I CAN'T WAIT!  Evan already has a job lined up with MetLife and he will start that soon :)  I'm sitll working at rue21 and this holiday season is crazy busy!

I have a busy work week coming up, too.  It's the week before Christmas and the mall hours have changed to 8am-10pm.  It's a long busy day everyday.  On that note, it's time for bed.  With long store hours like that, I need all the sleep I can get!

Have a very happy Hanukkah to all my Dad's side and a very merry Christmas to all my Mom's side!

Pursuit of happiness

I didn't even realize how long ago I made my first post.  This may be harder to keep up on than I thought!  I do have news on the internship on CURT.  I received a letter in the mail and it unfortunately was bad news, but every down has it's ups!  At least I have a job and I'm very thankful for that.  I opened a fortune cookie last week and I've actually been living by it for this past week. It says, "In your pursuit of happiness, it's good to pause and just be happy."  So that's what I'll do :)

Last week, and might I mention last minute, I was asked to work in Burnsville, MN on Thursday and Friday.  It was really nice to get away from Eau Claire for a few days.  While I appreciated my time away from the store I work in every day, it made me grateful because I missed my staff!!  I did get to stay in a hotel all my myself though! It was very relaxing but also lonely. I missed my Evan :)

After a long work week, Evan and I made a trip to Minneapolis and saw the Packer Viking game with friends, Chad and Kayla Johnson.  It was so much fun even though the Vikings lost but not by much I must add!  After the game, we went out to eat at Carbone's and had a delicious taco pizza.  It was super yummy.  We also made a spur of the moment decision and ended up at Mystic Lake Casino! The only person who won money was Chad.  Lucky.

It was such a long week and this week isn't going to be any shorter.  My store manager, Brittany, is on vacation this week which means I'm pretty much in charge which I don't mind, haha. I seriously want to run my own business at some point in time. I haven't looked more into starting a business but it is constantly lingering in my mind.

Well, I should really get back to my laundry which I've been neglecting for a week. Hope everyone has a happy and safe Halloween!

New to Blogging!

It's a beautiful Sunday afternoon and I've spent the morning reflecting on yesterdays events.  My mom, grandma Judy, Kayla, and I went to Farmington, MN to shop at Vintage Marketplace.  It's a beautiful store owned by my grandma's step brother and his wife.  Vintage Marketplace is filled with antiques.  You walk through the store once, twice, and three times and you still haven't seen everything in the store.  There is so much to look at, you could spend hours in there.  I found a beautiful tin framed mirror that my mom decided to buy for me as an early birthday present. I love it.

After a long day shopping, Kayla and I went out for Kiana's birthday.  We ate dinner at Shanghai Bistro, my favorite restaurant.  As you know, when girls get together there is always a topic of conversation.  As I was discussing my feelings towards my current job, Kiana and I brought up how we should seriously consider creating our own business.  Ever since high school, Kiana and I have always wanted to start a company using our last names as our brand name. Saxe&Tom.  Although we initially wanted to make handbags, we were throwing around ideas that I cannot stop thinking about.  So, I'm currently researching www.SBA.gov on how to start a business.

As of now, I'm still working at Rue21 as a full-time assistant manager.  I still have yet to here from CURT Manufacturing about a marketing internship I recently applied for.  CURT manufactures and distributes towing products across the United States and is rapidly growing.  It's a great company that I look forward in working for. Cross your fingers for me!

I hope this blog satisfies all those who read it.  I'll try to update as much as I can to keep you updated on the events happening in my life.  Have a happy relaxing Sunday!
